Presidency 2011

As of 1 January 2011 Hungary completing the 18 month-long cooperation of the Spanish-Belgian-Hungarian presidential trio takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The National Institute of Pharmacy (Országos Gyógyszerészeti Intézet - OGYI) is the appointed authority conducting proceedings of pharmaceutical administration as well as competent authority at the same time, which acts in favor of providing consumers with safe, effective medicines of high quality according to the relevant regulations medicinal. OGYI is the national authority of medicines control and research institute of methodology and science, as well. OGYI advocates that the continuation of collaboration amongst the National Competent Authorities of the Member States so as to ensure unified access to effective and safe medicines is of vital importance.

We regard the improvement of communication among national authorities and other organizations as an outstandingly significant issue because harmonized European judicature guarantees the higher level of public health, longer life-expectancy and a greater number of years spent healthily.
